Within a circle, ‘zarb-i dār as-saltana khuqand-i latif 1288’ (‘Struck in the capital, the nice Khuqand, 1288’ in Persian). Rev. The name of the late Malla Khan in Persian as ‘Sayyid Muhammad Malla Khan Bahādur’ within a circle. Album A3077. Extremely rare. Good very fine.

This coin type was struck during the uprisings of the 19th century under the authority of Yaʿqub Beg in the name of the late Malla Khan (AH 1275-1278 / AD 1858-1862). The mint is Pseudo-Khuqand; it was actually struck in Kashghar.
